Northwest Louisiana Veterans' Cemetery- service project

NDMS students placed Christmas wreaths on the graves of veterans at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans' Cemetery.

CLICK HERE to read an article from the Shreveport Times.

In order to continue our support of this project, our teachers worked with Boone's Funeral Home in picking up the wreaths that were placed out during the Christmas season. This is a project that is very dear to the hearts of our students and teachers.

Northwest Louisiana Food Bank- Food Drive 1st Place

Northwest Louisiana Food Bank- Food Drive 1st Place

North Desoto Middle donated 2,643 pounds of food. That is an average of 4.4 lbs per student. We received $1,000 for first place from the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank. The Food drive was sponsored by Pepsi Co., Brookshire's and Frito-Lay.  Thanks for all your donations!

Happy Bosses Day, Mr. Simmons!!

Wounded Warrior Project

Dr. Brumley’s community service project is to: 1. Raise awareness for healthy lifestyle choices and 2: Raise awareness (and funds) for Wounded Warrior Project.

Wounded Warrior Project works to support the needs of injured men & women from the United States Military. These individuals sacrificed so much to help keep America free and the greatest nation on the Earth. Dr. Brumley’s  goal, once again, is to raise $1 for every student in the DeSoto Parish School System ($5,300). Then, he will run the Marine Corps Marathon, dedicating individual miles to disabled vets from DeSoto Parish. All money raised will go directly to WWP as he will pay for all of his own marathon expenses such as travel, accommodation, meals, entry fees, etc.

Every dollar helps! Should you know anyone with a desire to donate online, that can be done at:

NDMS will accept donations beginning Tuesday, September 13th and reward students with a jean day on Friday, Sept. 23rd.

School Supply Collection

North DeSoto Family,

We are doing a parish-wide collection of school supplies to “adopt a district” in South Louisiana.  Please bring SCHOOL SUPPLIES to the foyer.  We want to help those who have lost so much during the flooding.  With school being postponed in South Louisiana, there will be many students in need.  FCA will continue to collect household items for flood victims.
