The CAPA Club and Book Club partnered for a trip to Live Oak Retirement Home to celebrate Louisiana's Bicentennial. The students shared a Powerpoint of our trip to Melrose Plantation, recreated some of Clementine Hunter's artwork with the residents, performed a zydeco line dance, and the band students performed as a Louisiana style jazz band. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time!!
The 4-H Club, CAPA Club, and Book Club partnered for a trip to celebrate Valentine's Day with the residents of Live Oak Retirement Home. The students square danced and created Valentine cards and scrapbook pages with the residents. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time! "It felt so good to make their day! The Book Club and CAPA Club partnered for a trip to Live Oak Retirement Home to play Christmas Bingo with the residents. This was such a fun and special time for our students and the residents of Live Oak!
NDMS students donated 918 canned food items to the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank! Great job Griffins!!
The NDMS Book club and CAPA club partnered for a community service trip to Shriner's Hospital. The students read and did crafts with the patients! It was a wonderful experience!! |
North DeSoto Middle School was awarded a Value Added Score of 5. This is the highest score a school can attain! Great Job Griffins!!
The Justin Bloxom Memorial Garden was used as an outdoor classroom today for 8th grade math students. Students analyzed data from the “Marbles in Water” experiment to discover the linear relationship between the volume of marbles and water displacement. Students were placed in a real life scenario where they had to create a fish tank and determine how many spherical rocks could displace the water to a specified height.
Parents, thank you for a wonderful school year. Please feel free to contact us regarding any questions, hopes, cares, or concerns. Educating and raising children is a big job. A job that requires schools and families to work together closely to be successful. I hope you will agree, if you do not already know, that North DeSoto Middle is a family friendly school, and parental involvement is treasured. FCA held an End of the Year Fellowship Wednesday morning. Jireh sang a praise and worship song, "Your Great Name", and K.C. gave the message. Students enjoyed donuts and fellowship with their friends!

Melrose PlantationThe CAPA Club and Book Club partnered for a trip to the Melrose Plantation in Natchitoches in celebration of the state bicentennial to learn about the famous Louisiana artist, Clementine Hunter.
The 6th grade gifted students visited NDES Pre K- 2 to present the robots they built in class to the STEM and gifted students.

Blake and Cara were both awarded the FCA Christian Athlete of the Year Award for the Northwest Louisiana Region!! They were chosen based on their exemplary grades, class ranking, community service involvement, and dedication in sports activities. Congratulations Blake and Cara!! Character Counts!
Sarra and Sidney exhibited great character this week when they turned in two twenty dollar bills they found in the hallway on our campus! They both received citizenship bracelets for their good deed! We are so proud of Sarra and Sidney!!
